Nitrox (Enriched Air) Diver Specialty Course

The word NITROX is composed of the words NITROGEN and OXYGEN, as it describes a gas mixture which consists of Nitrogen and Oxygen. In recreational diving, Nitrox is referred to as Oxygen-enriched air, that is a gas which consists of 21-40% Oxygen for the purpose of decreasing the levels of Nitrogen in the mixture. Decreasing the levels of Nitrogen in the mixture of gas we breathe underwater provides us with longer no decompression dive time in comparing to diving with normal air at the same depths. Nitrox offers other advantages as well, including decreased fatigue following repetitive dives due to the absorption of Nitrogen, reduced chances of Nitrogen Narcosis (partially) and a higher standard of clean air.

What Do We Learn in the Course?

•The advantages of diving with Nitrox

•Various Nitrox mixtures divers make use of

•Selecting the most suitable Nitrox mixture according to the maximum depth of our dive

•The process of filling Nitrox scuba cylinders

•Nitrox related equipment

•Planning and carrying out Nitrox dives by using dive tables and computers
